Remembering Gary Coleman, Dead at 42
Former child TV star Gary Coleman, best known for his role as Arnold Jackson on "Diff'rent Strokes", has died Friday, May 28, 2010 at 12:05 PM MDT after suffering an intercranial hemorrhage. He was 42.
Coleman suffered the hemorrhage Wednesday from a fall at his Santaquin home, 55 miles south of Salt Lake City and slipped into a coma thereafter. He was on life support in very critical condition at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. Coleman's wife, Shannon Price Coleman, made the decision to take the actor off life support early in the morning.
Aside from "Diff'rent Strokes", Coleman made the round of other sitcoms of the day, including "Silver Spoons" and the "Facts of Life." His character launched one of the top pop culture catchphrases from television: "Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis?"
Life is indeed short. RIP Gary Coleman.
