Carnival Splendor Cruise Ship Stranded off Mexico

An engine room fire hit the cruise ship Carnival Splendor on Monday causing the boat to lose its power and leaving nearly 4,500 passengers and crew stranded some 130 miles west of Ensenada, Mexico by early Tuesday. The Carnival Splendor left Long Beach on Sunday for a seven-day cruise to the Mexican Riviera.
