Team Xfire Leaves Viacom, Game Service Sold Off

Xfire, the Viacom-owned social networking tool for PC gamers, has been sold off to Titan Gaming today and most of its development team will be leaving as a result.

Xfire was originally sold to Viacom, the parent company of MTV Networks, back in April 2006 for $102 million. The site, headquartered in Silicon Valley, has since gone on to register more than 16 million users and put out 127 software releases.

Titan Gaming, incorporated in 2006, is the developer of a platform that helps games makers create skill-based competitions. The company is based in Santa Monica, California.
